Beijing games were Olympic-size letdown

I'm a geek for the Olympics.

I live, breathe, Tivo, and eat the Olympic spirit of competition, and of course, Michael Phelps.

However, despite my ongoing support and fervor of this momentous spectacle, this Olympics left a sour taste in my mouth. It wasn't because China won more gold medals than the U.

My summer was pretty low-key (that's a euphemism for "I sat around and didn't do anything that special"), and one of the more exciting aspects of that time was the arrival of what is one of the most commercially successful movies ever made: "The Dark Knight.

What a difference a year makes.

Last August, it was uncertain until the end of training camp who BG's starting quarterback would be. Anthony Turner, the starter in 2006, young backup Anthony Glaud and an unproven true sophomore named Tyler Sheehan were all in competition to line up under center for the Falcons.

The Technician and Academics Council have an interesting history. Through a B Section article called The Disgruntled Customer, Academics Council was basically born. This article led to a response from Doc K, which then led to the first Academic Forum in the Spring Semester of B Section.
